"A simple principle-children differ-explains why there can be no best method, material, or program." Richard Allington

Reflection:  Locating where students are in their learning, allows me as a teacher to plan instruction that will move them forward.  I use the Words Their Way Spelling Inventory in my classroom to guide, plan, and reflect on instruction.  This assessment guides my word study lessons, spelling, and word work in matching the learning to the individual.  Whether it is to accelerate or plan for interventions, this assessment helps me create a learning environment where all my students can learn.

"If children are apparently unable to learn we should assume that we have not as yet found the right way to teach them." Marie Clay

Reflection: Screeners, report cards, teacher notes, formative assessments, and parent interviews are all a few examples of ways we can use multiple forms of data to carefully collect, analyze and plan instruction. This discussion board supported ways teachers can use multiple sources of information to create an educational plan for their students.
